Course Description

Introduction to the basic biological functioning of the human body, and how various factors can influence health, wellness and disease. Includes an overview of human anatomy, physiology and pathology, as well as discussion of biological and nonbiological determinants of human health in both individuals and communities. Emphasis will be placed on conditions that are of particular concern to public health, such as diabetes, communicable disease, and maternal-fetal health. Does not meet requirements for major or minor in biology.
