Course Description

A version of CHEM 360 which does not include the laboratory component. Provides a study of the fundamental principles of protein biochemistry with an introduction to cell signaling and metabolism and bioenergetics. Topics may include chemistry of amino acids, basic protein structure, function and methods, enzyme kinetics and mechanisms, and regulation of enzymatic activity. Metabolic pathways explored include Glycolysis, Gluconeogenesis, the Citric Acid Cycle and Oxidative Phosphorylation.
