Course Description
Develops an understanding of the principles, tools, and techniques used by corporations to make financial decisions that affect their value and performance. Explores the role of financial markets, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies in corporate finance. Begins with a recap of the concepts of time value of money and risk-return trade-off, then delves into topics such as capital budgeting, project analysis, capital structure, dividend policy, and merger and acquisition. Students have the opportunity to evaluate investment projects, assess their cash flows, and determine their value through discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis. Covers the different sources of financing available to corporations, including debt and equity financing, and the optimal mix of these sources.
