Course Description
Provides an overview of the investment banking industry, including the role of investment banks, debt and equity capital markets, M&A, financial modeling, and valuation methodologies. In addition to scheduled readings and lectures, an emphasis will be placed on spreadsheet financial modeling. Students will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of financial modeling through various analyses including: discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable and precedent transactions, initial public offerings (IPOs) and leveraged buyouts (LBOs). A portion of the course will be dedicated to technical investment banking interview preparation.
