Course Description
Analyzing the financial requirements of a sports enterprise provides insights into their strategic and operating decisions. Subject sports organizations are examined for their market structure, financial management techniques, and use of public funds to advance team profitability goals. Advances understanding of the essential components of sports financial management using financial modeling related to budget analysis, capital budgeting, pro forma team and facility forecasting, debt and equity management, debt structuring, media and sponsorship evaluation, and the valuation of the sport enterprise. Through extensive use of spreadsheet modeling, students have the opportunity to gain fundamental skills in making sport financial decisions.
