Course Description
Introduces students to the analysis of historical interactions among the civilizations of Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East from approximately 1500 to the present. Focuses on how the modern world was made – globally. Presents models and examples for understanding cultural contact in the context of growing global interdependence and its implications for ecosystems, economies, geopolitics and technologies of connectivity. Sources include original documents, digital archives, histories, maps, literature and film.
