Course Description

A study of Newton's laws applied to the motion of particles and systems of particles. Forced and damped harmonic oscillators. Central-field motion, collisions, conservation laws, Lagrangian mechanics, and Hamilton's equations. Also rigid body dynamics and topics in computational physics. Students who do not meet the prerequisite may contact the instructor to discuss comparable experience and receive permission to register if approved.
