Course Description

Examines the sociopolitical construction of the border between the United States and Mexico. Students will have the opportunity to examine the history and culture of the border region on both sides of the international boundary and how the border has defined each nation. Students may also examine environmental issues, labor and economic systems, tourism, immigration and migration, grassroots activism, and border security in our exploration of the complex relationship between these two countries and their citizens.
