Offers a panoramic view of how gender and sexuality have been represented across different regions of the Spanish-speaking world through fiction, film, and popular culture. Employing a variety of theoretical approaches, the course examines the diversity and evolution of these representations in light of their intersection with economic, political, and socio-economic developments Pays particular attention to representative cultural portrayals and expressions that challenge traditional, institutional, patriarchal, and heteronormative codes or narratives in the Hispanic world. Taught in English.
