Course Description

Data visualization is a powerful tool for understanding and communicating patterns in quantitative information to a variety of audiences. Introduces the use of programming languages like R or Python to create aesthetic and ethical visualizations that communicate a clear message to intended audiences. Students also have the opportunity to critique existing data visualizations. Course topics include visualization theory, color theory, chart selection, and storytelling with data.
