Data visualization is a powerful tool for understanding and communicating patterns in quantitative information to a variety of audiences. Introduces students to industry-standard tools such as R and Tableau to create aesthetic, clear, interactive, and ethical visualizations that communicate effectively to intended audiences. Explores how to critique existing data visualizations in news and media. Addresses best practices in data visualization, chart and graph selection, and storytelling with data.
