Course Description

Introduces students to critical issues in education through a lens of diversity and social justice. Investigates the role racism, sexism, economic injustice, heterosexism, ableism, and other forms of discrimination play in educational equity, opportunity, and access for youth. Major educational philosophies are explored as students are asked to look inward and outward to develop solutions to complex problems and serve as change agents using their positions as educators in the field.
