Course Description

Designed to explore the principles, practices, and implications of agroecology in contemporary agriculture. Delves into the intersection of ecology, agriculture, and social systems, gaining a deep understanding of sustainable farming practices that prioritize environmental health, social equity, and economic viability. Experiential learning opportunity through partnership with ‘Grow it Green’ Urban farm located in Morristown, NJ. Requires 45 hours of Immersive experience (which includes the 20 hours of community-based learning experience). Potential Time slots to work at Grow it Green: Tuesdays- 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm; Thursdays- 8:am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm; Fridays- 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
