The Shakespeare Theatre of N.J. Apprenticeship/Internship

Course Description

A full-time apprenticeship or internship with the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. The specifics of assignments are determined by the department and the individual student. Apprentices, students with little experience in acting, receive training in scene study, voice and movement, and broad exposure to all aspects of theatre production. The internship program is designed for more advanced students interested in developing their knowledge and skills in a specific, non-acting area, such as set, costume design, directing, stage management, box office, etc. Students develop a journal that records their day-to-day experiences, a detailed written summary of the entire apprenticeship/internship, and a creative project. Exact completion date and nature of the creative project are determined in consultation with the Shakespeare Theatre and the Drew faculty adviser.
