Modifications Made to Curriculum: Fall 2025
The Teaching Minor prepares students to enter the MAT teacher certification program. The minor includes four graduate courses that can be transferred into the MAT. Students who earn B or higher in all courses, maintain an overall 3.0 GPA and pass a dispositions assessment may be conditionally admitted to the 4+1 program. After fully matriculating to the MAT program, students complete the remaining requirements of the master’s degree in the 5th year. After the 5th year, students will be eligible for New Jersey teaching certification in either elementary K-6 or a content area (English, math, science, social studies, world language, art, music, business, health). Students are eligible to earn a second certification in either Special Education or English as a Second Language as part of 5th year programming.
