Requisites
Requirements for the Major (60 credits)
I. Core (48 credits)
Complete all of the following:
course - University Physics I
course - University Physics II
course - Modern Physics
course - Electronics
course - Mechanics
course - Advanced Physics Laboratory I [WRMJ] OR course - Advanced Physics Laboratory II [WRMJ]
course - Calculus and Analytic Geometry I
course - Calculus and Analytic Geometry II
course - Calculus and Analytic Geometry III
course - Differential Equations
course - Introduction to Computer Science in JavaScript OR course - Introduction to Computer Science in Python OR course - Object Oriented Programming in Java
II. Electives (12 credits)
Complete 12 credits, selected from the following:
course - Advanced Physics Laboratory I OR course - Advanced Physics Laboratory II (Students may take the second Advanced Lab as an elective)
course - Introduction to Elementary Particles
course - Advanced Topics in Physics
course - Electrodynamics
course - Optics
course - Thermal Physics
course - Quantum Mechanics
Note: At least 4 Elective credits must be fulfilled by course, course, OR course.
III. Optional
course and course will NOT count towards the Physics Major or Minor.
Notes
For students also majoring in Mathematics, course, course, course, course, and 8 additional intermediate- or upper-level credits may count for both Majors.
