The Musical Theatre Minor is an interdisciplinary program incorporating the study of acting, dance, movement, vocal arts, performance history, and related musical subjects. The program distinctively offers students the opportunity to create original musicals as well as to participate in immersive experiences.
Requisites
Requirements for the Minor (22-24 credits)
I. Core (15-17 credits)
Complete all of the following:
course - Introduction to Acting
course - Movement for the Musical Stage
course - Music Fundamentals
course - Introductory Vocal Instruction (Taken for 1 Credit) OR course - Advanced Vocal instruction (Taken for 2 Credits)
course - Theatre Practicum: Shop Technician
And one of the following:
course - Theatre Practice: Playwriting
course - Theatre Practice: Stage Management - Sets One or Two
course - Theatre Practice: Acting: Sets One or Two
course - Theatre Practice: Dance
course - Theatre Practice: Stage Management - Sets Three or Four
course - Theatre Practice: Acting: Sets Three or Four
course - Musical Theatre Workshop
