The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Finance major is designed to appeal to students wanting to immerse themselves in financial markets and data analysis. Our rigorous and hands-on curriculum engages our students through real-world exposure to U.S. and global markets, and prepares our graduates for success in careers throughout the financial industry.

Requisites

BS Finance Requirements for the Major (60 credits)

I. Introductory Courses (20 credits)

Complete all of the following: 

  • course - Fundamentals of Financial Accounting, with a C- or better

  • course - Introduction to Computer Science in Python, with a C- or better

  • course - Economic Principles: Macroeconomics, with a C- or better

  • course - Calculus and Analytic Geometry I OR course - Topics in Single and Multivariable Calculus, with a C- or better.

  • course - Introduction to Statistics, with a C- or better

II. Finance Core (28 credits)

Complete all of the following:

The electives allow students to develop their skills in the areas of finance, investing, computer science, econometrics and statistics giving them the appropriate insights and the tools to understand and analyze financial topics and issues.

  • course - Wall Street Program: Analysis of U.S. Financial Markets

  • course - Principles of Financial Markets

  • course - Topics in Finance

  • course or course - Student Managed Investment Fund I or II, if not used to satisfy the core requirement

  • course - Investment Banking

  • course - Sustainable Investing

  • course - Advanced Topics in Finance

  • course - Financial Economics

  • course - Personal Financial Planning

  • course - International Finance 

  • course – Behavioral Finance
